My Studebaker- the 'Deuce and a half':

(home)

Sold Saturday, June 17th 2006 to help for funding buying our new house.   :(

I found this truck on EBay, but was unable to bid because I was on vacation and was Jeeping on the base of Mosquito Pass (the pass was still snowed in in June- it's in Leadville, Colorado and the highest 4wd pass in the continental US).  I was happy to find that the truck was actually only 45 minutes from my house.  I was lucky again because the winning bidder was a bum and didn't pay.  I took the seller cash and picked it up on the spot.

It's a 1951 Studebaker M35 2.5 ton 6*6.  I don't know why it's called a 2.5 ton, since the bed capacity alone is 10,000lbs.  Man, it has some torque.  I also like the air locking front axle.  The metal is in really good shape- maybe a little surface rust.
It's, like, really loud.  (No muffler came on it- straight pipes only.)

See ya!
Mike
